Horse-drawn carriages have come back to Delaware Park on Sunday afternoons for romantic and scenic tours along the lush Delaware Park and the historic and tree-lined Lincoln Parkway, Soldiers Circle, Gates Circle and Bidwell Parkway

Hawk Creek Wildlife Center is a not-for-profit wildlife sanctuary that is open to the public on select days throughout the year. (see website for dates) They offer quality educational outreach programs that include live animals such as birds of prey, wildcats, and more. Hawk Creek house over 80 permanent residents of varying species and have over 22 years of experience in education and rehabilitation. They are also members of The International Association of Avian Trainers and Educators and The Association of Professional Wildlife Educators.

Garden Walk Buffalo is a free, self-guided tour of more than 350 Buffalo gardens, the largest garden tour in America.

On most weekends throughout the summer and fall, Buffalo Niagara RIVERKEEPER connects you to the water with Buffalo Niagara River Tours. RIVERKEEPER provides a variety of hiking, biking, paddling, and boat tours, throughout Erie and Niagara counties, led by knowledgeable docents.

Experience the beauty of the Buffalo and Niagara River ecosystems, watch for birds and wildlife in the heart of the City of Buffalo, and learn about what’s happening along the water’s edge.



For generations, the majestic beauty and humbling power of Niagara Falls State Park has fostered a sense of awe and wonder. Through the years, countless people have enjoyed the sparkling scenery of the falls, making the Niagara Falls vacation spot a favorite for the whole family.

Writers, artists and prominent figures have also flocked to the falls to feel the spark of creativity only the park’s panoramic views can create.

Sail back in time aboard the schooner Spirit of Buffalo. Rediscover old world sailing on a classic 73 foot coastal sailing vessel, the same kind used to carry grain, coal and lumber across the Great Lakes to the Buffalo Harbor. The Spirit of Buffalo is the only square rigged, topsail schooner sailing out of the Historic Buffalo Harbor.

Times Beach has a complicated social and environmental history. Time Beach has become an important and rare lakefront habitat for a number of animals and plants, including birds. It is one of the largest more or less "wild" sites remaining on the great lakes.

Of course it is a built site, but it has somewhat reclaimed itself as a wildlife habitat. That it is in downtown Buffalo is astounding and very important.

The National Buffalo Garden Festival is a five week celebration (June 18 to July 25) of the greater Buffalo area’s garden walks, talks, tours and events.
