Saturday Kids Art Workshop
Saturdays July 10th through August 14th; 10:30 am until 12 noon
Children of all ages welcome
$7.00 per child pre registered / $10 walk-in day of workshop
Kids can come to the gallery and explore all kinds of arts and crafting media. Children need to express themselves in the creative arts so that they can learn to communicate effectively using the tools of visual language and learn about the visual world around them. This workshop allows students to open up and create exciting and meaningful works of art as they explore pencil, charcoal, pastel, watercolor and acrylic paints. Also collage, colored pencil, jewelry making, recycled products and whatever else we can find that get the creative juices flowing. Materials will be supplied with this class. Students may register in advance or walk in on the day of class. Registered students receive a discount.

Getting Creative with Kids at Home Family Art Workshops
Tuesdays: September 28th, October 19th, and November 2nd 7pm - 8:30pm
$40 per workshop
These workshops are geared to get families working together in fun and creative ways while making memories and family heirlooms that will be treasured for years to come. During the workshops families will create a treasure to take home with them as well as learn all sorts of great information about home projects, family resources, activity ideas, recipes and more!
Session 1: “Green” Art: Using recycled materials to make art, show your kids how to turn trash into treasure with a little imagination and some fun craft supplies!
Session 2: Family Photo Frame: Spend time browsing through family photos, reliving memories with your children as you select photos to copy and use as an image to decoupage on a photo frame. Once your collage is complete, place a family photo in there and treasure it forever!
Session 3: Family Painting: What would be a better piece of living room wall art than an original painting created as a team effort by your family? We’ll use all kinds of fun and interesting paints on a canvas that you can later have framed and proudly display forever.

Oil Painting for Beginners:
The Process of Abstraction; a study on classical abstract painting styles and artists.
Saturdays 12pm - 1:30pm
This course will explore the various methods of abstract painting through Futurism, Cubism and Minimalism. Students will explore the styles of various abstract artists including Picasso, Braque, Marc, Stella and others while learning the deconstruction/ reconstruction process that the artists used within their work.
Session 1: Cubism 9/18 and 9/25
Session 2: Minimalism 10/2 and 10/16
Session 3: Futurism 10/23 and 10/30
$40 per session. You may register for as many sessions as you wish. Registration for the second and third session must be completed at the end of the previous session if registering for each session individually.

Creating 3-D Paintings Using Mixed Media
Saturdays 2:30pm - 4:00pm
Ages 12+
Learn to create mesmerizing works with 3-D illusions and while wearing 3-D glasses.
Students can use acrylic paint, watercolors, design markers, pastels, colored pencils and
collage/ montage. Students can bring their own materials or pay an additional $15.00 fee
per session and all supplies will be provided.
Session 1: 9/18 and 9/25
Session 2: 10/2 and 10/16
Session 3: 10/23 and 10/30

Introduction to Encaustic Painting with Tara Sasiadek
Learn the art of painting with wax
Mondays 5pm - 7pm
Ages 18+
A 4 Hour Introductory workshop with all materials included to get you started in this beautiful medium. Learn the basics of encaustic painting. Learn how to fuse wax with different heat tools, how to make you own paints and save money on materials. Experiment with the many different mediums and materials you can combine with encaustic paints.

Music Lessons with Jim Wynne
: Guitar, Bass and Piano
Ages 9 and up
1/2 hour to full hour weekly sessions
Lesson Fee: $15 per 1/2 hour
Learn from one of the best in the business, musical entrepreneur,
Jim Wynne! This 20-time Buffalo Music Award winner has an impressive resume around the Buffalo area and is well known for his work with Gamalon, Haiku, The Wynne Band, Kamikazi Ltd. and The Project among other endeavors. Jim is available for private instruction in Piano,Guitar
and Bass Guitar on Wednesdays from 3-9 PM. Time slots are given on a first come first serve basis. A second day will be added if all slots are filled on Wednesdays.

Music Lessons with Helen Butler:
Violin, Viola, Cello, Bass, and Piano
1/2 hour to full hour weekly sessions
Lesson Fee: $15 per 1/2 hour
Helen Butler is both a musician and teacher known for her versatility. She performs many diverse styles of music ranging from classical to rock and roll. In her decade as a teacher, she has taught large classes in schools, and private students aged five to ninety-five. Helen’s musical training began with piano lessons and playing violin in her school’s orchestra. She completed her Bachelors and Masters degrees at the State University of New York at Fredonia, and holds a New York State Permanent Certification in Music for grades K-12. Helen has been a music teacher with Buffalo Public Schools since 2003, and is currently the Director of Orchestras at The Buffalo Academy of Visual and Performing Arts, an arts magnet school for students in grades five through twelve. She has over a decade of experience teaching private lessons to students of violin, viola, cello, bass, piano, and Music Theory. Helen is available to teach Thursdays from 5-9 PM. Time slots are given on a first come first serve basis

Ask the Lawyer: Creativity; Earn a Living by Knowing Law And Business
Tuesdays 7pm - 9pm
Ages 18+
An open forum about the laws and business principles that affect your ability to make money from your creativity. Ask questions and get answers about business structure and contracts, trademarks and marketing, copyrights and collaboration. Workshop by Steven Fox, who is a published writer and photographer with a B.S. in Consumer Economics from Cornell University, and a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
Workshops are Tuesdays, September 28th, October 12th and October 26th. Each session is $20.
Choose as many sessions as you would like. Minimum class enrollment: 4.

Life Drawing 101
Sundays 2-3:30pm
Ages 12+
Students experience the basic content to any undergraduate Life Drawing 101 class, using all of the classic techniques and materials in just 6 classes. Students will be provided with a host of materials, exercises and technical skill-building tasks to do on their own, after first getting instruction and trying it out during class. Although there are no college credits earned here, this can help graduates, undergrads and non-grads alike to gain the basic knowledge of a popular undergraduate class.
Session 1: Still Life: Contour/ cross-contour drawing, rendering, value scales, believable light source and using a viewfinder to map out your composition. Dates: 9/19 and 9/26
Session 2: Cityscape: Students will focus on using a viewfinder to map out a composition, perspective, foreshortening, measurement to scale, rendering atmosphere and light sources.
Dates: 10/3, 10/17
Session 3: Figure Drawing: Students will focus on Proportioning, rendering muscle and skeletal groups using a live (not nude) model. Dates: 10/24 and 10/31
$40 per session. You may register for as many sessions as you wish. Registration for the second and third session must be completed at the end of the previous session if registering for each session individually.
